I found one today...

for the very first time.

No, I didn't take a picture, but this day needs to be documented.

Yes, that's right. You are correct.

There it was when I got up this morning, was washing my face and getting ready for work...in all its glory, practically shouting "look at me, I'm right here and you can't do a thing about it!".  Let's just be honest, I was having a GREAT (it's all relative) morning until I turned to leave the bathroom.  As I glanced in the mirror (vanity's a killer) on the way out, I saw it.

Standing proudly among the tufts of the small frizz that comes right out on the right side of my part was my first GREY hair.

How can this be, you ask?  I'm 25, with no children, relatively low stress levels, and a husband who gives fabulous back rubs.  I was completely unprepared and soooo not ready for a grey.  Now my husband, he's got em' all over. They are very distinguishing on HIM, they are endearing on HIM, and I can smile fondly about HIS. It's natural for HIS to be going frizzy-crazy in the morning.  But as we're not genetically related, that doesn't quite explain where mine came from.

Let's be honest, I'm not going to go dye my hair.  I know it's a natural part of life, but it's never been a natural part of MY life and I was totally content to not see one until my (late) 30's.

I know quite a few young people who have a couple grey hairs and have for awhile....and I've always felt sorry for them.

Until today.

Call me vain, I don't care (maybe a little).  I can't help it, really.  But now you know, and now I know.

The trespasser was promptly removed, but now I'm ready and (somewhat) more prepared for what is to come...we'll see if they really do bring wisdom.  I feel like I should get something, right?
