On Saturday a co worker had a roping contest and crawfish boil out at her ranch. She does it every year and I've always wanted to go, but in the past we've always been traveling (whah, whah). This year I went out with two other women from work and it was so much fun. I didn't get a ton of pictures, but there were over 400 roping teams throughout the day and probably over 400 people. There were kids running everywhere, horses everywhere, a live band and the weather was perfect. It was CRAZY, but fun. I'm sure I was an obvious 'city girl' as I was wondering around in my flip flops looking for the baby goats and asking if I could pee in the house instead of the porta potty :) (In my defense, I was looking for the goats with little children :)
Anyway, they had over 400lbs of crawfish, and tons of potatoes, corn and mushrooms. It was delicious...I couldn't stop eating! (imagine that)
Next year, I'm making Will come too!
I probably ate over 60 crawfish...and that might be a low estimate :) The kid next to me took the time to explain every part of the crawfish to me...almost every time he ate one. I felt like I was back in an elementary science class. I just smiled and kept stuffing my face :)
